Danube Cruise to Prague


This is a very special Spring 2017 adventure. It is by boat, singing Opera, Operetta andGilbert and Sullivan from Budapest to Passau and on to Prague. Our adventure includes seven nights in your own river view state room, many with French windows; all meals on board including full buffet breakfast, four course lunch, five course dinner, afternoon tea andlate-night snacks; selected house wine, beer and soft drinks with your meals. And it also includes optional visits to the grand Opera Houses of Budapest, Vienna and Prague. Donald Maxwell will be one of our celebrity entertainers.



We plan a pot luck Trial by Jury and everyone who wants to sing can enjoy four 60-minute rehearsals of The Pirates of Penzance which will be presented on the final evening.

This remarkable package also includes your theatre visit in Budapest; walking tour in Bratislava; city tour of Vienna; full day trip to Salzburg and coach transfer from Passau to Prague.


Our journey begins on Friday March 24, 2017. Because guests will be flying in from many parts of the world we are leaving you to make your own flight arrangements into Budapest and out of Prague. We will of course help you as necessary.


Friday 24 March 24 – Budapest

We begin as we mean to go on with a Magical Musical Evening at either the amazing Budapest Opera House or its 900 seat Operetta Theatre. Magic is the word!

Saturday 25 March - Budapest  

Your chance to explore this wonderful city. Visit the 13th century Matthias Church and the turrets of the Fisherman’s Bastian with sweeping views over the city.

Sunday 26 March - Bratislava

Capital of Slovakia and occupying both banks of the river Danube and the left bank of the river Morava. The charming old town is the place to start appreciating Bratislava. Stroll the narrow pedestrian streets of pastel coloured 18th century buildings.

Monday 27 March - Vienna   

Capital of Austria. Its artistic legacy was shaped by residents including Mozart, Beethoven and Sigmund Freud. The city is known for its imperial palaces. We have a morning guided city talk and time for an optional Viennese cultural evening. We sail again at midnight.


Tuesday 28 March 2 - Düernstein    

In Düernstein you have a free morning to visit one of the most visited tourist destinations in the Wachau region and also a well-known wine growing area. After lunch we sail to Melck best known as the site of the massive Baroque Benedictine monastery named Melck Abbey


Wednesday 29 March - Linz & Salzburg

Another overnight sail arriving early morning in Linz. We take a 90 minute coach drive to the storybook city of Salzburg and visit the UNESCO listed Altstadt with its mosaic of graceful domes and spires. Free time before returning to Linz.


Thursday 30 March  - Passau

Passengers will enjoy sailing through one of the most picturesque parts of the Danube and into Passau. Time for a visit to the city and then back onboard for a farewell cocktail offered by the captain, dinner and our special performance of ‘The Pirates of Penzance’.


Friday 31 March - Prague

Coaches transfer us to Prague. Depending on flight times home we will havan opportunity

tovisit one of Prague’s most famous cultural attractions - Prague Castle. And we can arrange an add-on stay in this colourful and romantic capital. Time to get to know Prague, its Opera house and other cultural highlights.



  • There are 24 deluxe twin cabins on the top deck at a cost of £1400 per person.
  • There are 24 identical twin cabins on the second deck  at £1300 per person.
  • There are then 18 mezzanine cabins as singles at £1300 or as twins at £950 per person.
  • There are 10 cabins on the lower deck available as singles or twins at £1200 per cabin.
