Theatrical Adventures Ltd is proud to support the 29th International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival in Buxton Opera House from 29 July to 12 August 2023.
Theatrical Adventures offers unique cruises with outstanding G&S entertainment along the greatest rivers in Europe, and in 2023/24, customers can journey along the Moselle, the Rhône and even the mighty Mekong in Vietnam and Cambodia.
In 2023, six companies will perform in Buxton Opera House and compete for the prestigious Festival Champion’s Trophy. New London Opera Group will perform The Sorcerer on Monday 31 July, Peak Opera will perform The Gondoliers on Tuesday 1 August, North West Productions will bring Cox & Box, Trial by Jury and The Zoo on Thursday 3 August, Bus Pass Opera will perform HMS Pinafore on Monday 7 August, Brussels Light Opera Company will bring Iolanthe on Tuesday 8 August and SavoyNet Performing Group will perform Ruddigore on Thursday 10 August.
For the first time in the Festival’s history, the winning society will receive a cash prize of £1000, and runner-up will receive £500. The UNIFest Champions will receive £500 and runner-up £200 – all sponsored by Theatrical Adventures.
The Festival Adjudicator, Stephen Turnbull, Secretary of the Sir Arthur Sullivan Society will announce the awards and prizes donated by Theatrical Adventures at the Award Ceremony on Friday 11 August.
The awards ceremony will take place in the Pavilion Arts Centre and is free entry. It will also be live streamed on Facebook, GSOPERA.TV and YouTube.
