Martin Yates and Stephen Turnbull talk about Haddon Hall, the light opera with music by Arthur Sullivan and a libretto by Sydney Grundy.
The opera, set in nearby Haddon Hall, dramatises the legend of Dorothy Vernon’s elopement with John Manners, resetting the tale in the 17th century. A coach trip will visit Haddon Hall this afternoon, and there will be some live singing from the opera during the show.
