What is the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival?

The annual Gilbert & Sullivan Festival is the biggest celebration of the Gilbert & Sullivan comic operas anywhere in the world. Taking place in the Royal Hall Harrogate, you are promised an incredible event.

There will be 20 fully-staged performances in the Royal Hall, and running alongside is a packed fringe programme with lectures, concerts, a memorabilia fair and more. Visitors can drop in for one show or immerse themselves in the festival and experience everything on offer.

What can we expect from the festival this year?

Visitors can see everything from The Mikado to The Grand Duke. Our professional company, the National G&S Opera Company, brings three new productions – The Pirates of Penzance, Iolanthe and the rarely performed Utopia Limited. Utopia is the ‘must-see’ show this year and will be superb.
