BUXTON OPERA HOUSE
The annual Gilbert & Sullivan Festival is the world’s biggest celebration of the works of Gilbert & Sullivan – the world’s most performed theatrical partnership. Together they wrote fourteen comic operas between 1871 and 1896. Sullivan’s genius for melody and Gilbert’s magic with words produced a combination of music and text that has rarely been equalled.
