Patience
The National G&S Opera Company
Directed by and starring Simon Butteriss, this is the “must-see” show of the 27th International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival. Patience satirizes the Aesthetic Movement of the 1870s and ’80s and the empty, self-indulgent artists of the day. Languid poets, drooping, sighing maidens, and the manly dragoons make for a hilarious evening’s entertainment.
Accompanied by the National Festival Orchestra, directed by James Hendry.
